Orthodontics address bite issues including:
- Crooked and crowded teeth
- Gaps and spacing issues
- Underbite and overbite
- Crossbite
- Overjet
If you struggle with malocclusion, you may be a good candidate for orthodontics.
Many people choose to undergo orthodontic treatment during childhood, often between the ages of eight and 14. There is, however, no upper age-limit for orthodontic treatment and many orthodontic options are actually designed for adult use.
Full Face Orthodontics
At Evolution Dental, Dr. Schick offers full face orthodontics, an orthodontic treatment option that goes beyond straightening teeth to address a number of oral and systemic health issues that can be caused or exacerbated by malocclusion.
Full face orthodontics are used to guide the growth of the jaw, impacting the shape of the face and assisting with issues such as TMJ, sleep apnea, and even postural problems. This holistic approach to orthodontics helps to produce a straight and more appealing smile while addressing problems that can impact your overall health, but candidacy is the same as for traditional orthodontics. During your initial consultation, Dr. Schick will carefully evaluate the state of your teeth and gums to help you determine the best course of treatment.
Minor Cosmetic Bite Issues
If your bite issues are primarily cosmetic, we may be able to address the issue with dental veneers and other cosmetic dentistry services. Porcelain veneers are placed over the front of teeth to assist with minor bite issues such as irregular tooth shapes and sizes, small gaps, and crooked presentation. Dental veneers can also address chipped or cracked tooth enamel and greatly improve the appearance of teeth that have been seriously stained or discolored.
During your initial consultation at our Calgary office, Dr. Schick will discuss all of your options and help you choose the best one for your specific needs.
Please call Evolution Dental at 403-208-9965 to schedule your consultation today. Located in Calgary, we welcome patients from all surrounding areas of Alberta.
